Leadership Giving Officer

Stoneleigh-Burnham School seeks a highly entrepreneurial, energetic, and collaborative individual with success in personally securing gifts and meeting fundraising goals for the position of Leadership Giving Officer. The Leadership Giving Officer is responsible for securing annual and major gifts. He/she builds strong relationships through the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors. This is a capital campaign position focusing on the $1.5 million Equestrian Center Expansion, $1 million Endowment Initiative, and additional priorities in the School’s strategic plan. Weekend and evenings required. Local, regional and national travel will account for 60% of the Leadership Giving Officer’s time.

The successful candidate will possess the following Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required 
  • 3 years of successful development experience
  • A deep appreciation for, and an ability to articulate, the mission of Stoneleigh-Burnham School, its curriculum, programs, aspirations, and the unique experience it provides to students.
  • Excellent personal and interpersonal communication skills; writing and proofreading skills
  • Proven ability to establish and meet fundraising goals
  • Proficient computer skills, including information databases, Google Drive, Microsoft Office
  • Must possess high degree of independent initiative and innovation, negotiation, interpersonal and networking skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as with colleagues and volunteers
  • Excellent personal and interpersonal communication skills; writing and proofreading skills
  • Valid driver’s license. 
  • Ability to travel frequently including overnights and weekend (60% of the time).
